Children's Therapy in Preston

Sun Rose Children’s Therapy is dedicated to providing high-quality children’s therapy in Preston for families seeking support with social, emotional regulation or developmental challenges. Our therapists create a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. We work closely with families to understand each child’s unique experiences and provide personalised strategies that help them grow with confidence.

Children often communicate through behaviour rather than words, which is why our therapeutic approach is gentle, child-led, and grounded in developmental science. Families are supported by an experienced children’s therapist and registered play therapist who works from a neuro-affirming, strengths-based framework, supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and healthy self-expression.

Services

Our services extend to assisting children with a wide array of challenges, including trauma, family breakdown, separation anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, language difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence, grief and loss, depression, and selective mutism. Our practice is recognised for its expertise in supporting children with ADHD.

Play Therapy in Preston

Our play therapy in Preston is designed to help children process emotions and experiences through the natural language of play. Using toys, stories, art, and imagination, children learn how to express themselves, build emotional awareness, and develop important coping skills.

Play therapy can support children who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry, or emotional overwhelm

  • Social challenges or difficulties forming friendships

  • Big emotion that show up through behaviours at home or school

  • Changes within the family such as separation or relocation

  • Grief, trauma, or big emotions they cannot verbalise

  • Low confidence or self-esteem

  • Attention-related challenges

With guidance from a qualified play therapist and mental health social worker, children explore their inner world in a safe and meaningful way. Play therapy in Preston encourages emotional regulation, stronger communication skills, and improved problem-solving abilities, helping children feel more secure in their daily routines.

“We have been seeing Golnaz weekly for 4 years. She has built a wonderful relationship with our son Rocky and our family. We have seen such great progress.

Golnaz has been such an asset to our team helping Rocky build on his skills and communication through play.Play therapy with Golnaz is by far Rocky’s favourite therapy and lights up when Golnaz arrives with her box of games and activities.

It’s been an absolute joy to see our son Rocky blossom and learn through play with Golnaz.”
